Wind Crafters

Joanne Mott and Sandra Fiona Long (aka The Wind Crafters) have been creating windy spaces to play, perform and build in with kinetic and sound environments interacting with the wind.

We create peaceful and fun spaces put together with community participants, using wind toys modelled on local birds which soar on the wind, transforming recycled and found materials into windy gold and creating poetry and soundscapes based on the wind. Starting out as workshops at Artplay, performances at the Queensland Museum and Federation Square and most recently  The Temple of the Wind in the Coburg Carnivale 2018 and at the Kyneton Town Hall Arts Centre in 2021, this project keeps building and growing, bringing joy to kids and adults alike.

We create, work and play on the lands of the Wurundjeri People people of the Kulin nations. We acknowledge that this land has never been ceded and always try to tread gently on this land.
