The Engineer in the Snow- mini creative development.

I spent some days on the south side of Melbourne at Theatre Works mid August with actor Emily Tomlins, in a mini creative development of The Engineer in the Snow: a fantastical erotic fugue for Planet Earth. After developing this work online and consulting as a team over a number of years, it was so great to get on the floor with Darius Kedros’s sound and play with objects, voice and text. Theatre Works are programming this work in 2026, and we will be joined by Indonesian artist Deden Bulqini and designer Emily Barrie. We are currently in the stage of pulling together the funding and resources to make it happen. Producer Kat Carrington is nurturing this work along and helping us to bring all the complex elements together. It feels pretty vulnerable to share this new work, it is intimate and raw, so the support from this amazing team means everything to me. It is also very funny, and Emily makes me laugh so much as she works through the text. She also hits an incredible depth which takes my breath away.

We create, work and play on the lands of the Wurundjeri People people of the Kulin nations. We acknowledge that this land has never been ceded and always try to tread gently on this land.
